New Joiners Guide

When a new team member joins, follow this guide, and log completion in a ticket.

Your line manager should have:

  • Requested your Dom1 account (@justice.gov.uk account)
  • Ordered your MacBook / other relevant kit
  • Requested a Slack account

Slack

Once a Slack account has been created you will need to be added to the Cloud Optimisation and Accountability Slack Channels.

Add new team members to #cloud-optimisation-and-accountability-team, #coat-notifications, #finops-greenops-community, #green-software and #analytical-platform-support.

Github Account

Setup a new account on GitHub using your @justice.gov.uk email address.

Runbook: Add user to GitHub

After the invitation has been accepted, check access to the Ministry of Justice organisation and the moj-analytical-services organisation.

Join the cloud-optimisation-and-accountability team in the Ministry of Justice organisation.

Access to project board(s)

We use the Cloud Optimisation and Accountability Team GitHub Project to manage our workflow.

Access to Miro

Request a Miro account on Service Now.

Go to Miro and sign in using your Justice account. Join the team’s project board. You must have an MoJ license to access this.

AWS (COAT Development and COAT Production)

SSO using GitHub

Microsoft Group

A team member will add you to our existing Cloud Optimisation and Accountability Team MS Group.

This will give you access to:

  • COAT team calendar (you will need to add this in Outlook browser)
  • COAT MS Teams Group
  • COAT SharePoint

You will also need to request access to our mailbox. You will need to do this via a Service Now request using the Shared Mailbox – Maintain option. You must request ‘Full Access with send on behalf of’ for cloudoptimisationandaccountabilityteam@justice.gov.uk.
